Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

Please be aware there have been 2 Porche Macan vehicle thefts from Cuffley overnight.

41/17144/26 refers to a White Porche Macan stolen from a driveway on Tolmers Gardens between 12.01am and 1.01am on the 23rd February.

41/17139/26 refers to a Blue Porche Macan stolen from a driveway on Starling Lane between 3.45pm on the 22nd February and 6.30am on the 23rd February.

If you have any information relating to these crimes please contact Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the relevant crime reference number above.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.
